PRECIOUS TIME

We had some fabulous time together this year.  I suspect we will have many more times when we will enjoy the time we have together.  How I love you and love spending time with you.  You are my bright and shining star.  I never understood how much joy a Grandchild would bring to my life.  But, now you are here and I understand all to clearly.

Evelyn, I am so proud of you! I'm in Florida and your at my house. You just called me to announce " guess what? I went poop on your potty! And when I go poop on the potty, I get 3 m&ms!" You were so proud and excited. Congratulations my big girl!

Just wanted you to know how much I love seeing/hearing about your milestones. You're still the Sunshine of my life?

I love you,

A FUN VIIST TO GRANDMA'S

Did we have fun or what? You came for 4 whole days. We did lots of great things. We ate Blueberries every morning. We had a picnic on my porch. We painted. We drew on the sidewalk. We danced. We had cupcakes. But best of all we went to the Park and the Cups every day that you where here. Grandma and Grandpa loved having you.

I used to worry that you wouldn't know us. But I'm not afraid of that anymore. You definitely know and love us. I am your CRAZY Grandma, ....no kidding Evelyn! And Grandpa is you quiet, snugly, flirty Grandpa. You live in our hearts in a very special spot when we aren't together.

When you were a baby, I used to rock you and look directly into your eyes. I would talk to your soul and tell you who I was and how deeply we were connected. You would look at me so seriously, but I think you understood deep down inside. We have been able to see each other a lot this year. I plan on having this continue. You are the happiest part of my life.

I love you my dear, sweet Evelyn. And guess what? I will be seeing you in just 6 days. We are coming to Gwinn. We are going to stay with Evelyn.

I'll love you always and forever!

Evelyn's "Stash"

Hi Baby Girl!

It's been awhile since I posted on your blog site. Sorry, I've gotten distracted and haven't done much writing. I've talked with you on Skype a lot. I see how fast you're growing and how much you are learning every day. You are incredibly smart and very funny and at the same time so loving and endearing. How did we get so lucky to have you?

Grandpa and I are really looking forward to you visit. As you can see, I've been building a stash for you. Mommy and Daddy will have limited space to pack toys, so Grandma and Grandpa have shopped and have a whole cupboard waiting for you. I think there will be plenty here to keep you occupied. We are planning on having a great weather week so we will be very busy going on Florida Adventures. Wait until you see all the fun things there are to do here.

Gotta go now. Grandpa and I have some errands to run and then we are having dinner with one of our friends down here. I'll talk to you soon. Love you, always and forever!

Merry Christmas

Hi Evelyn,

Well, this is an early Merry Christmas wish. I just wanted you to know that I purchased your main Christmas gift today. I opened a Michigan 529 Education Fund for you. I know that right now your too young to realize that this is really a great gift. I think for now your more interested in lights, and small objects and toys that make sounds, but I also know that you love books. In a way this is connected to books....it will help you when you are older to go to school and learn even more. It will take a little bit out of the sting of how expensive a college education is...and will be.

So my dear, smart and precious girl....you are now into investing! Happy savings and gains to you.

I love you always and forever,

Grandma "P"

Just a Reminder.....

The Swimming Pool Evelyn will swim in!

The Condo you'll stay in....on the top floor

Hi Evelyn,

Just a quick post. Guess what? You are coming to visit us this weekend. I wanted to send some pictures of Grandpa and Uncle David and Aunt Becka. I guess I haven't been sending enough of all the family. I want you to know all of our faces. Everyone down here in the lower peninsula loves you very much. We look at your blog all the time and replay all the videos that your Mommy and Daddy post.

I also am sending you a picture of the swimming pool you'll be swimming in when you visit next April. You'll be able to go in the water every day. We'll go to the beach too and you'll be able to swim in the ocean! I heard you are taking lessons to get ready. Pay attention and learn how to swim so we can feel safe when you're in the water.

We are going to have a big family dinner on Sunday. We are going to celebrate Thanksgiving early with you. You know what we are the most thankful for? ....YOU!

See you soon!

I love you always and forever,

Grandma "P"'s visit to Gwinn

WINDOW

Hi Evelyn,

Here are some pictures I took when I came to visit. You have grown quite a bit since I last saw you in early August. At this time of your life, changes are pretty big and pretty impressive.

I wanted to thank you for waiting until I got here to really start your walking. I know how hard it must have been for you to hold yourself back. You took your first two steps on your 14month birthday....but held off for the big performance until the evening of September 19th. You warmed my heart. You looked like a drunken sailor but you laughed like an angel. The best part is you really seem to like me....I mean really like me. We have been having so much fun during the day and at night too. You especially like my "I'm going to get you!!" game. You giggle until you are near exhaustion and hysteria. Probably not the best thing before going to bed for the night. Grandma can't seem to help herself though. Every moment is precious and I don't want to miss any love pats, giggles or 1st times. I don't want to miss a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th either. You are my sunshine, you make me happy.

I hope you call me on your "Banana Phone" once I go home.

Love you always and forever,

Grandma "P"
